Classification and relevant characteristics of sewing thread
A. Natural fiber sewing thread
1. Cotton sewing thread: With high strength, good heat resistance, suitable for high-speed sewing and durable pressing characteristics; mainly used for cotton fabrics, leather and high-temperature ironing sewing.
2. Silk yarn thread: It has excellent luster and strength, elasticity and wear resistance are better than cotton yarn thread; it is suitable for all kinds of silk clothing, high-grade woolen clothing, fur and leather garments decorative embroidery, etc.
B. Synthetic fiber sewing thread
1. Polyester sewing thread: It is the most important sewing thread at present. It has high strength, good elasticity, wear resistance, low shrinkage less than 1% after setting, low moisture regain, good high and low temperature resistance, light resistance, water resistance, chemical stability, etc.
It is suitable for jeans, sportswear and leather. Sewing of leather products, car seats, wool and military uniforms, etc.
2. Nylon sewing thread : Strong stretch, good elasticity, its breaking strength is three times higher than that of cotton thread of the same specification; suitable for sewing chemical fibers, wool, leather and elastic clothing, automobile seat, etc.
3. Vinylon sewing thread: It has the characteristics of high strength and smooth stitching. It is suitable for sewing thick canvas, furniture cloth, labor insurance articles, etc.
4. Acrylic sewing yarn thread: Mainly used for decorative yarn thread and embroidery yarn thread, yarn twist is lower and dyed brightly.
C. Mixed sewing thread
1. Polyester-cotton sewing thread: It can guarantee strength, wear resistance, low shrinkage, suitable for high sewing; suitable for all kinds of clothing such as cotton, polyester-cotton.
2. Core-wrapped spun thread: Suitable for high-speed sewing and clothing requiring high strength.
