High Elastic Nylon 6/Nylon 66 Filament Yarn
Nylon is a term for nylon fibers, which can be made into long or short fibers.
Nylon is the commercial name of nylon fibers, also known as Nylon, Polyamide (abbreviated as PA).
Nylon yarn properties
PA has good comprehensive properties, including mechanical properties, heat resistance, wear resistance, chemical resistance and self-lubrication.
Nylon yarn has low friction coefficient, certain flame retardancy and easy processing. Nylon yarn is suitable for filling and reinforcing modification with glass fibers and other fillers, improving performance and expanding application range.
Nylon is mainly used for synthetic fibers, its most prominent advantage is that its wear resistance is higher than all other fibers, 10 times higher than that of cotton and 20 times higher than that of wool. A little nylon fiber is added to the blend fabric, which can greatly improve its wear resistance; when stretched to 3-6%, the elastic recovery rate can reach 100%; and it can withstand tens of thousands of times of flexures. Continuous cracking.
The strength of nylon fiber is 1-2 times higher than that of cotton, 4-5 times higher than that of wool and 3 times higher than that of viscose fiber. However, nylon yarn fibers have poor heat and light resistance and poor retention, and the clothes made of nylon fibers are not as crisp as polyester yarn.In addition, both nylon-66 and nylon-6 used for clothing have the disadvantages of poor hygroscopicity and dyeability. Therefore, a new variety of nylon fibers, nylon-3 and nylon-4, has been developed, which has the characteristics of light weight, good wrinkle resistance, good air permeability, good durability, dyeability and heat setting. It has a bright future.
Nylon yarn uses
In civil use, nylon yarn fibers can be blended or pure spun into various medical and knitted fabrics. Nylon filament is mostly used in knitting and silk industry, such as knitting single silk stockings, elastic silk stockings and other wear-resistant nylon stockings, nylon scarves, mosquito nets, nylon lace, elastic nylon coats, various nylon or interwoven silk products.Nylon staple fibers are mostly used to blend wool products with wool or other chemical fibers to make wear-resistant and wearable clothing.
In industry, nylon is widely used to make cord, industrial cloth, cable, conveyor belt, tent, fishing net and so on. It is mainly used for parachutes and other military fabrics in national defense.
Nylon yarn fiber's Characteristic:
1.Cleaning and anti-fouling: The cross-section shape of the fibers and the anti-fouling treatment of the back passage affect these two properties. However, the strength and hardness of nylon fibers have little effect on the cleaning and anti-fouling properties.
2.Melting Point and Elasticity: The melting point of nylon 6 is 220 C, while that of nylon 66 is 260 C. But for carpet use temperature conditions, this is not a difference. The lower melting point makes nylon 6 have better resilience, fatigue resistance and thermal stability than nylon 66.
3.Colour fastness: Colour fastness is not a characteristic of nylon. It is the dyes in nylon, not the fading of nylon itself under light.
4.Wear Resistance and Dust Resistance: Clemson University conducted a two and a half year experiment at Tampa International Airport with Zeftron 500 nylon 6 carpet and Antron XL nylon 66 carpet, respectively. The carpet is in a state of extremely high traffic. The results show that Basf Zeftron 500 nylon is slightly better than Antron XL in color retention and wear resistance of pile. There is no difference in dust resistance between the two yarns.
